Residents could save £30 million over 5 years through an energy service partnership offered by South West Social Housing Providers.
In recognition that energy bills can be a significant household cost, EnergySW has been launched by Advantage SW[i], specifically to offer the residents of 12 social housing providers great value energy tariffs.
The energy supply partnership between Advantage SW and OVO Energy[ii] offers competitively priced tariffs targeted at over 80,000 social housing households in the Advantage SW membership. The tariffs are amongst the most competitive in the market and, by working with OVO, EnergySW is able to provide high levels of customer service. The service also includes providing pre-payment customers with free smart meters; increasing convenience and energy budget control. Recognising the particular demographic of residents, there is no additional charge for paper billing and the Warm Homes Discount applies.
Ocean Housing Ltd has now promoted EnergySW to our residents in the hope that many will see the benefits of switching. What is more, income generated through EnergySW will be used to help more residents save on their energy bills. To date three other similar partnerships have been launched successfully with Local Authorities in Cheshire East, Peterborough and Southend-on-Sea. Combined, these partnerships have attracted over 5,000 customers. This would be the first partnership to launch which targets social housing.
EnergySW entered the market on 23 November with a website where residents can sign up and switch to the new supply (www.energysw.co.uk) along with phone-based sign-up methods.
