Both older and younger people can face discrimination on the basis of their age.
Older people may find that they are not employed in a position they are suitable for or offered the same training. Older people may face living in poverty, face abuse in their own homes or may be refused specific social services.
Young people also face barriers to employment because of their age and because of judgements and assumptions made about them. Younger people may also find it hard to access housing or support services. which could cause them to become homeless. They may not have access to public transport.
At Ocean, we will listen and we will ensure our services are delivered in a way that takes account of the needs of our residents and potential residents, irrespective or age.
The Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006
